I am currently accepting new clients. About one third of my clients are couples having relationship problems. Another third of my counseling is with children who may be angry, anxious or depressed about a divorce or other family problem. I also treat ADD and ADHD. The last third of my appointments are with individual adults. Stress, anxiety and depression are frequent problems addressed in counseling. Anger management, sexual addictions, childhood sexual abuse and many other issues are also addressed.
I offer both counseling and testing services. I use both the MMPI and the Taylor Johnson personality tests. I have tests for ADHD (attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder) and I also do IQ testing. I have clinical instruments (GSR and EEG) to do biofeedback and Neurofeedback training. I also use an EMDR light bar to treat PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).
Christian counseling includes prayer and is grounded in biblical truth. It is not preaching. It is a dynamic interaction between the counselor and the client in which scripture can be applied to individual problems and needs. Theophostic prayer is used to help many clients heal emotional wounds from their past. I believe that this approach adds an important extra dimension to the practice of counseling.
Phone Counseling is available if you are unable to come into the office. Phone sessions must also be scheduled and I require credit card information be provided for billing.
I charge professional fees. Health insurance usually covers most costs. Discounts are available to families with financial hardship. Contact us for more information and to schedule your appointment.
Your privacy is important to me. I do not release your information unless you request it or it is required by law. I am required by law to report abuse of minors and the disabled according to State of Texas guidelines.
My practice is based on these verses: 2 Corinthians 1:3 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, (4) He comforts us in all our trouble, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in every trouble, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
